“We are extremely honored to have Buddy
Matthews as this year’s Grand Marshall. As a teacher at Hoboken High School
for 29 years and the school’s baseball coach for 20 years, Buddy’s decades
of service to the youth of this community have been an inspiration to us
all,” said John Cunning, Co-Chair of this year’s parade.
"I'm
honored to have been chosen as Grand Marshal for this year's Hoboken St.
Patrick's Parade. I've spent many years teaching and coaching the kids at
Hoboken High and I'm thrilled that I'll be celebrating my Irish heritage in
such a special way in such a special community on March 4th. I'm
particularly excited that my family, friends and students will be a part of
this celebration," said Charles "Buddy" Matthews, Grand Marshal of the 2006
Hoboken St. Patrick's Parade.

member of both the Hoboken High School and St. Peters College sports halls
of fame, Matthews has also enjoyed honors as a past Man of the Year for the
local chapter of the United Cerebral Palsy Foundation and Irishman of the
