Last year marked  the first time the Great American Irish Festival (GAIF) served as organizer and presenter of the Utica St. Patrick's Day parade. This year the event is scheduled for Saturday, March 13th at 10:00am and the Grand Marshal is Mr. Jim O'Looney. The parade will begin at Oneida Square and head North on Genesee St. to Columbia St. with the Reviewing Stand in front of the Stanley Theater. An after the parade party is planned to start at 1:00 p.m. at the Utica Maennerchor on Flanagan Road. London based band The BibleCode Sundays will be playing until 4:30pm. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the door.

 Last year's parade, the third largest in New York State, featured over 120 entries and Parade Committee Chairman Charley Thomas – a former Parade Grand Marshall himself – expects this year's event to be even bigger and better. The parade will start at 10:00 am at Oneida Square, traveling north on Genesee St. to Columbia Street, with the Reviewing Stand located at the Stanley Theater.

Directions

From the East

Take the New York State thruway (I 90) to Exit 30 (Herkimer/Mohawk). Take left from the exit ramp, then an immediate right onto Route 5 S westbound. Approximately 6 miles exit to the Frankfort Fairgrounds exit.

From the West

Take the New York State thruway (I 90) to Exit 31 (Utica). Follow signs to Genesee Street South. Follow the road signs to route 5S east. (After approximately 1 mile you will be directed to bear to the right onto "5S and Broad Street". Then another 1/2 mile to turn left onto Route 5 S eastbound). Then proceed east about 8 miles to the exit for the Frankfort Fairgrounds.

From the North

Take Routes 8/12 South to Route 5 S eastbound approximately 9 miles to the Frankfort Fairgrounds exit.

From the South

Take Route 8/12 North to route 5 S eastbound approximately 9 miles to the Frankfort Fairgrounds exit.
