A list of all NY Saint Patrick's Parade in the
State of New York (NY)
The Hoosick Falls St Patrick's
Parade and Irish Fest will celebrated its 19th
Anniversary
on March 13th, 2010. Nineteen years ago, local Irishman
Mike Conway and TJ
Carmody wanted to find
a way to keep the Irish Culture and History alive in the
Hoosick area, and decided that a parade was the Ticket!
The history of St Patrick's parades
dates back to when Irish immigrants made their way to Hoosick Falls in the
mid 1800s and ended sometime in the 1950s.And was started again in 1991.
Each year the parade has grown to
what it has become today and The Irish Fest. Has Become a First Night like
event. We begin day with the Parade with over 40 Marching Units and Floats
at 1:00 PM followed by the Irish Fest. After the parade people can take in
the Entertainment at the New
York State Armory with the Patrick Murphy Band, Campbell 's School of
Irish Dance and the
Galloway Gaelic Pipe Band.
Or visitors can walk to the other bars and restaurants that offer The Celtic
Games,
Irish Music and food. We also offer bus rides from site to site and
latter in the evening offer Safe Rides Home.
The Parade and Irish Fest have
become the Single largest one-day event in the
Town of Hoosick with
two to three thousand visitors that day. It is also the best day of year for
local for local bars, restaurants and shops.
