South Boston -- This year's 108th annual
parade date is March 16th. South Boston is Boston's most Irish neighborhood and
has a glorious tradition of helping others while keeping Irish heritage alive.
The parade committee is headed by John Hurley, a Navy veteran and South Boston
native.(1:00 p.m.) 617 258-7955.
The 108th annual Boston St. Patrick's Day parade
will begin at 1:00pm Sunday March 16th, 2008 in South Boston, a distinctly Irish
neighborhood jutting into Boston Harbor. The parade features dozens of bands
from Ireland and across the United States, including local favorites like Boston
Police Gaelic Column, composed of Boston police officers. The 107th annual
parade begins its route at the Broadway “T” station , heads east along the
Broadway, and winds its way through the streets of South Boston, ending at the
Andrew “T” station. Both stations are on the “T” Red Line so it’s very easy to
get to the parade without driving and parking.

This year's parade celebrates the 202nd of South Boston (1804-2008).
The parade features marching bands and pipe bands throughout North America.

helping others while keeping Irish heritage alive. The parade committee is

Scituate's 13th annual St. Patrick's Day parade is popular among the South Shore
and Cape Cod communities. The parade ends at scenic Scituate Harbor. Scituate is
nicknamed the Irish Riviera, since many Irish politicians like James Michael

The 27th Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade celebrates the Irish of Central
Massachusetts, who began settling in the Worcester area as early as 1718. In
1825 Irish immigrants came to Worcester to build the city's canals and roadways,

Charitable Irish Society's Annual Dinner
Formed in 1737 by Boston Irish merchants, the Charitable Irish Society is the
oldest Irish organization in North America. Each year its members gather on St.
Patrick's Day to celebrate their long standing traditions of friendship and
goodwill toward the Irish immigrant community.
