The
West Orange St. Patrick's Day Parade will be held on Sunday, March 9, 2008. The
parade will step-off at 12:15pm at the corner of Main Street and Mount Pleasant
Avenue.West Orange, NJ - The West Orange St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee has
announced the honorees for the 2008 St. Patrick's Day Parade.
Leading the Parade down Main Street on Sunday, March 9th
will be Grand Marshal Noel O'Keeffe, Sr. Noel was born in Ballyduff Upper,
County Waterford and immigrated to the West Orange over 40 years ago and has
been a resident ever since. His wife, Phyllis, and he are the proud parents of
four children and seven grandchildren. Noel established a successful business,
O'Keefe Contracting, in West Orange in 1964 and continues today as a father-son
partnership. He is a prominent member of the Essex County Shillelagh Club, the
NJ Hurlers Association, Cryan Association, Essex County Emeralds, McGovern
Association and Project Children.
Joining Noel this year will be Deputy Grand Marshals,
Kathy Whelan, Jim Reilly, Bill Cunningham and Andy McCrone.

The West Orange St. Patrick’s Day
Parade Committee has announced the honorees for the 2008 West Orange St.
Patrick’s Day Parade. Leading the parade down Main Street on Sunday, March
9, 2008 will be Grand Marshal Noel O'Keeffe, Sr.
Last year GM was Joe Ryan. Joe is the outgoing president of
The Order of the Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh. He is active in the Irish
community, a member of Tri-County Golf club and lives in West Orange with
his wife of 19 years, Patty. Joining Joe this year will be Deputy Grand
Marshals Kenny McGuire, Anne Cully Malkinski and Kevin Walsh.
The parade will begin at 66 Main Street by Town Hall and will end at Our
Lady of Lourdes Church at the intersection of Eagle Rock Ave, Main St., and
Harrison Ave. The Grand Stand will be in the CVS parking lot across from the
Community House.
