Parade Upcoming Events
The Scituate Chamber of
Commerce & the Parade Committee are busy planning the upcoming St.
Patrick’s Parade to be held on Sunday March 20th.
Once again the annual mayors race is
about to begin. The committee is actively seeking mayoral candidates for
this year’s Mayoral Race. If you know someone that would be a good candidate
or you would like to run yourself and help raise money to fund the parade
please contact parade chairman Ed Kelley at 781-545-6671. Nominations will
be accepted until Jan. 29th. The Mayors race will start Feb. 5th
and run thru March17th.
Save
the date!
The annual Mad Hatter’s Ball will be
held at the Barker Tavern Feb, 26th, 2011 from 7 to midnight. The
evening’s festivities will include dinner, dancing, and an Irish Step Dance
demonstration. Creative chapeaux are encouraged! Tickets are $40.00 pp and
will be available at the Front Street Book Store and Christopher’s Irish
Gifts on Front St. beginning January 14th.
Corporate
Sponsors
The Parade Committee thanks all of
last years sponsors and welcomes new sponsors. A $250.00 sponsor will be
acknowledged on the official parade web site. A $500 sponsor will be
acknowledged on the web site, and company name to be displayed on a Rolling
Billboard that will be seen around town on the day of the parade. A $1,000
donation will receive all the above plus company name on major
sponsor banners to be posted on Rt. 3A and in Scituate Harbor at the Village
Market. Larger corporate sponsors will also be mentioned in our print ads
and on the radio. Deadline for Corporate sponsors is: February 15th, 2011.

The
St. Pat’s Plunge
The 3rd annual St. Pat’s Plunge
into the chilly Atlantic Ocean will be held on March 12th at
Peggotty Beach at noon. Pledge forms will be available at locations around
town. Anyone raising $100 or more in pledges will receive an official St.
Pat’s Plunge beach towel.

The Parade starts at
1:00 pm from Gates Middle School, First
Parish Road. It then proceeds down First Parish Road to Front Street,
Scituate Harbor. Then turning right onto Jericho Road, ending at Town Pier
parking lot next to Pier 44 Restaurant.
The entire route is approximately 2.3 miles
long.

Directions
FROM the NORTH: Take Route 3 to exit 11
then left at lights at bottom of ramp. Follow to next intersection and take
right onto Route 113.
FROM the SOUTH: Take Route 3 to exit 11
and take right at bottom of ramp and follow to first set of lights and take
right onto Route 113. ALL: Follow Route 113 to Route 3A. Proceed through
lights and bear right, then straight onto Driftway Road Follow to Scituate
Harbor.
