"While you're here, you're Irish!" That's the
phrase you'll hear when you visit one of Dublin, Ohio's largest events. Wear
your green and arrive early for the pancake breakfast, followed by the 5K Run
(10:45 a.m.) and the community parade that begins at 11 a.m. at the Clarion
Hotel-Dublin. It travels through Historic Dublin. It features bagpipers,
leprechauns, bands, floats and all things Irish.
Then, warm up at the Blarney Bash where you can enjoy performances by several
bands including a live performance by The Prodigals! The "Bash" also includes
Celtic dance and spirits, a Wee-Folk area and more!

Dubliners will headline the 2006 St. Patrick’s Day Celebration, set for
Saturday, March 18. The annual Blarney Bash takes place from noon until 11 p.m.
in a heated tent at the Wyndham Dublin Hotel in Metro Center.
The Young
Dubliners, past favorites of the Celtic Rock Stage at the Dublin Irish Festival,
return to Dublin by popular demand with their unique musical experience that
appeals to people of all ages. With music that has expanded from its Irish roots
to flat-out rock‘n roll with the flavor of Ireland, arrangements feature
mandolin, tin whistle, fiddle and flute in addition to the standard rock line-up
of bass, drums and guitar.
The Blarney
Bash will also feature local entertainers the Hooligans, Knot Fibb’n and the
internationally-renowned Richens/Timm Academy of Irish Dance. Food and beverages
will be available. Activities for the Wee Folk include crafts and contests in
the Wyndham Dublin Hotel Ballroom and Wee Folk entertainment in the Metro Club.
In addition to the Blarney Bash, the Lions Club Pancake Breakfast sets the stage
for the annual City of Dublin Parade, which begins at 11 a.m. at Metro Center
and travels through Historic Dublin. More than 110 units are expected to
participate.
