The
Nutley Irish American Alliance announces parade information and upcoming
events which include the 30th annual parade. The parade steps off
on Saturday March 1, 2008 at 1:00 PM. The route is from Holy Family Church,
down Harrison Street to Franklin Avenue, ending at Chestnut Street.
Please
join the Alliance afterwards for the post parade party to be held at the
Knights of Columbus on Chestnut Street. The festivities start after the
parade and include beer, wine, soda, hot dogs and corned beef. Entertainment
will be provided featuring Irish and American music. The cost is 25.00 per
person for unlimited fun and refreshments. Tickets are 20.00 if purchased in
advance and children 14 and under are free.
This
year Nutley resident, Kevin O’Connor, is the Grand Marshal. Other dignitaries
are: Deputy Grand Marshal, Peggy O’Boyle Dunigan; the Queen is Kaitlyn Sussko
and the Member of the Year is Judith McIntyre.
Meetings are held the third Thursday
of the month at the VFW, 271 Washington Avenue, Nutley at 8:00 PM. New
members are welcome.

The Nutley Irish American Alliance announces their
annual St. Patrick’s Parade Grand Marshal Dinner. It is to be held on
Saturday, February, 2006 at San Carlos in Lyndhurst. The
cost will be $60.00 per person, and includes hot and cold buffet with a four
hour open bar. Live entertainment will be provided by Tommy Goodwin and

Jim Callaghan, the Grand Marshal, will be honored this
year. Other dignitaries will be, the Queen, Danielle Carlo, the Member of
the Year, Patricia Kane and the Deputy Grand Marshal, John Ross. The annual

Danielle Marie Carlo Is Selected the 2004 Queen of Nutley's St. Patrick's
Parade
Danielle Marie Carlo
has been selected as the Nutley Irish American Alliance’s 2006 Parade Queen.
She is the daughter of Joseph and ChrysAnne Carlo of Nutley.
A 2002 graduate of Nutley High School, Danielle is currently a junior at The
College of New Jersey, majoring in Criminology and Justice Studies.
Danielle’s Irish roots are from the townland of Mohill in County Leitrim, as
well as Bunratty in County Clare
